Pune : Water Discharge From Panshet Dam Increased To 1,577 Cusecs

Pune 26th August 2023: The irrigation department has increased the water discharge from Panshet Dam and power generation plant from today. According to the officials, the water discharge from the power generation plant has been increased to 1,577 Cusecs including 600 Cusecs from power generation plant and 977 cusecs from the dam as of 6 pm today.

The decision has been taken following a rainfall reported in the catchment area due to which the water level at the Panshet dam increased. According to the officials the dam has been filled upto 100% of its capacity and the citizens living around river have been advised to take precautions as decision to further increase or reduce the water discharge will be taken based on the rainfall reported in the catchment areas.

It may be noted that the capacity of Panshet dam is 10.65 TMC. The other three dams in the Khadakwasla cluster have also reported increase in the water storage. According to the official data, water storage in the Khadakwasla dam was reported 51.99% (1.03 TMC), Warasgaon 97.07% (12.45 TMC) and 76.77 % (2.85 TMC) storage was reported at the Temghar Dam. The accumulative storage of four dams was reported 92.51% compared to 100% reported on the same day last year.
