Pune: Water Release from Mulshi Dam Rises to 12,300 Cusecs, Alert on Mula River Banks

Pune, 15th July 2025: With Mulshi Dam now filled up to 78% of its capacity and rainfall continuing in varying intensity, authorities have announced a controlled release of water into the Mula River.

As per an official statement from Tata Power’s Mulshi Dam Division, the current discharge of 8,200 cusecs from the dam’s spillway will be increased to 12,300 cusecs at 2:00 PM today. The discharge may be further adjusted depending on future rainfall and rising inflow levels.

In light of the increased outflow, citizens have been strongly advised to stay away from the riverbed, and those with cattle, belongings, or any equipment near the river should relocate them immediately.

Authorities have also requested that residents of low-lying areas be informed of the situation and take necessary precautions. People are urged to exercise caution and cooperate with local administration to ensure public safety.
