Pune, 27th January 2026: As the unseasonal cloud cover clears, Punekars can expect a return to dry conditions starting Wednesday, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting a steady rise in temperatures as the city heads into February.

According to the local forecast for the period of January 28 to February 2, the likelihood of rain has completely receded. The city will witness “mainly clear skies” in the mornings, turning “partly cloudy” towards the afternoons or evenings for the rest of the week.

Minimum Temperatures to Rise

While the city may experience a relatively cool start on Wednesday, January 28—with the National Defence Academy (NDA) area expected to dip to a low of 15°C and Shivajinagar (Pune) at 16°C—the winter chill is rapidly on its way out.

By the weekend, minimum temperatures across the district are projected to rise significantly. By Sunday, February 1, night temperatures in areas like Lohegaon, Chinchwad, and Koregaon Park are expected to touch 20°C to 21°C, marking a definitive shift away from the colder nights of January.

Brace for February Heat

The daytime maximum temperatures indicate that summer-like heat is approaching.

Mid-Week (Jan 28-29): Maximum temperatures will hover comfortably between 30°C and 31°C.

Weekend Surge (Feb 01-02): A sharp spike is predicted for the start of next month. Lohegaon and the NDA area are forecast to hit a maximum of 34°C, while the city center (Pune station area) and Koregaon Park will touch 33°C.

Citizens are advised to prepare for warmer days as the temperature gap widens, signaling the end of the peak winter season in Pune.
