Pune, 18th July 2025: After a brief spell of rainfall earlier this week, Pune has witnessed a break in monsoon activity over the last two days, leading to a noticeable rise in daytime temperatures. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that this warm spell is expected to continue for a few more days, with light rain likely in some areas.

According to IMD observations, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 31°C and a minimum of 22.5°C on Thursday. Localised readings showed slightly higher temperatures in areas like Magarpatta, where the mercury touched 32°C, contributing to a surge in heat levels.
Temperatures in Lohgaon and Pashan also hovered around the 31°C mark.

“Monsoon activity has slowed down over Pune, leading to a brief increase in temperatures,” said an IMD official. “There is a forecast of partly cloudy skies with a chance of very light rain over the next five days. However, no significant change in weather patterns is expected immediately.”

On Friday, July 18, the maximum temperature is expected to dip slightly to 30°C, with the minimum rising marginally to 23°C. The weather is likely to remain similar on Saturday, with continued cloudy conditions and isolated drizzle possible across parts of the city and surrounding areas.

The IMD has advised citizens to stay hydrated and take necessary precautions as humidity levels remain high despite overcast skies. While no heavy rain is expected in the short term, light showers may offer brief relief from the rising heat.
