Pune, 15th February 2025: Pune has been experiencing significant temperature fluctuations over the past few days, with chilly mornings and nights followed by sharp daytime heat. This unusual weather pattern has made residents experience both winter and summer conditions within the same day.

According to the Pune Meteorological Department, the city’s maximum temperature has reached 36°C, while the minimum temperature has dropped to 12°C. On February 14, Talegaon recorded 38.8°C, significantly higher than the seasonal average.

What’s Causing This Unusual Weather?
Meteorologists attribute the extreme temperature variations to dry winds from South India and western disturbances in North India. The southward-moving dry winds are causing a rise in Maharashtra’s temperatures, leading to a 17°C difference between day and night temperatures. Experts warn that these fluctuations could impact rabi crops.

In the coming days, clear skies are expected, and both maximum and minimum temperatures may rise by 2-3°C, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Precautionary Measures for Citizens

Given the sudden weather changes, residents are advised to take necessary precautions:

✅ Stay hydrated to prevent dehydration.
✅ Avoid direct sun exposure between 12 PM and 4 PM.
✅ Use sunscreen and sunglasses to protect against UV rays.
✅ Consume seasonal fruits and vegetables to boost immunity.
✅ Monitor health conditions, especially for migraines, flu, and respiratory issues.
