Pune: Well Owner And Contractor Booked For Culpable Homicide In Well Collapse Incident Of Indapur

Pune 6th July 2023: The Pune Rural Police have booked a well owner and contractor for culpable homicide for death of four labourers who died after an under construction wall of a well in Indapur collapsed. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) had recovered the dead bodies of deceased after conducting rescue operation for over three days.

 

The police have booked well owner Girish Vijay Kshirsagar and contractor Vishwas Gaikwad in the case. The police have also arrested the owner in the matter. It is alleged that the owner and contractor did not take necessary safety measures during construction despite knowing that the work poses danger to the workers’ lives.

 

It may be noted that an unde construction wall of a well in Mhasobachi Wadi village in Indapur had collapsed on Tuesday last week. Four labourers who were working at the site were trapped under the debris and the NDRF team was called for the rescue operation. After conducting the rescue for four days, the NDRF officials retrieved the dead bodies of the workers.
