Pune: Asked To Stop Qawali Program At Hotel Seven People Assault Owner And Bouncers, Case Registered

Pune 6th August 2023: The Pune City Police have booked a person for allegedly assaulting a hotel owner and bouncers at a hotel located in Koregaon Park for stopping the Qawwali program as it was going on beyond permissible time. The incident took place at Waters Hotel Bar and Kitchen located at Mundhwa-Koregaon Park road on Saturday.

 

According to police, the complainant had organised a Qawaali program at the hotel and the hotel owner asked him to stop the program as it was going on beyond the permissible time till 1 am. However, the accused and his associates who were listening the qawali at hotel got angry on stopping the program and started arguing with the hotel owner. This further escalated after which they allegedly assaulted the hotel owner and bouncers who tried to intervene. The accused also allegedly abused and assaulted the other customers at hotel, stated the complainant.

 

A case in this regard has been registered at Mundhwa Police Station against 7 unidentified people under sections 324, 323, 427, 504, 506, 143, 147 and 147 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) following a complaint lodged by the event manager. Further investigation in the matter is underway.
