Pune: WhatsApp, Twitter, Facebook, Email Complaints Now Also Included In Dial-112, Devendra Fadnavis Inaugurates System

Pune, 14th January 2023: Police helpline Dial-112 now includes complaints received through WhatsApp, Twitter, Facebook, Email, etc. This integrated system was inaugurated today by Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis in Pune.
He announced at the start of the conference of senior police officers on crime and law and order in the state. The system has been jointly developed by Maharashtra Police and Mahindra Defense Services. So far about 11.50 lakh complaints have been handled through this system, out of which about 2.50 lakh complaints were related to women.
On average, 19,000 calls are received through this system per day, while 2,800 complaints are disposed of. Now it has also included complaints received through Maharashtra Police’s Citizen Portal, SOS, Facebook, E-mail, Citizen Mobile App, Twitter, WhatsApp, etc. Therefore, complaints will be resolved quickly.
Trained manpower has been designed to handle complaints received through social media and respond promptly to them. Due to this, immediate help will reach the victim. 112 Maharashtra has handles on Twitter and Facebook, other details are available on the Maharashtra Police website.
Due to this, citizens can now register their complaints through social media and seek immediate help from the police. This has added another rapid response service to the service of Maharashtra Police.
