Hadapsar, 3rd April 2022: The Rotary Club of Pune Amanora (RCPA) conducted the Neerathon 3.0- Family Marathon today. It was aimed to promote and advocate water conservation, which is a prevalent issue in today’s time.

It was held in Amanora Town and was organized by Amanora the Fern, Punekar News, Amanora Park Town, and Ruby Hall Clinic. 800+ runners participated in the event.

Race Director Abhishek Rathi said, “With the help of Rotary Club members we actually have pulled out 800+ runners running today and supporting the cause of conservation of water.”

He further added, “We need groups like Rotary Clubs and etc to come forward and create more awareness not only on water but plastic drives, saving trees, planting trees and green earth. We need to give back to the community, it’s very important.”

With the objective of “no jal, no kal (no water, no tomorrow)” one of the runners Vishal Garg said, “It has been a really amazing experience running 10-kilometers. In fact, I would like to quote, ‘Jo nahate hai voh shareer dhote hai, magar jo bhagte hai voh kismat badalte hai (people who take bath, just clean their bodies, but people who run change their life/fortune).”

The event was organized in three different categories viz. 10Km, 5Km & 3Km, to enable participation for all age and social groups. The winners were felicitated and given cash prizes also during the event.

The Neerathon started with an energetic warm-up session, then the marathon, a healthy breakfast, and then the felicitation of the winners. There were around 1000 people at the event.

Sujal Shah, a member of the RCPA said, “I was one of the core team members while organizing this event, Neerathon and it was a grand success. The entire team helped to reach where we are today. The theme as you can see was Water Conservation.”

“No jal, no kal. We appeal to everybody to save water” said the members of RCPA.

Rotary Club of Pune Amanora- Rotary International is an international service organization whose stated purpose is to bring together business and professional leaders in order to provide humanitarian service and advance goodwill and peace around the world. A young runner Aditi Sathle said, “I am here for my first Neerathon. My experience was really nice, I enjoy running. I had been signed up for 3 kilometers, but instead, I ran for 5 kilometers.”
