Pune 28th Sept 2023: The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Limited (MSEDCL) has set up a temporary control room and has deployed its engineers along with other staff members on field to help ganesh mandals and citizens for electricity related problems. The control room has been set up near the Modi Ganpati premises with an aim to provide easy and immediate access to processions on Laxmi Road and Tilak Road.

“During the immersion procession period, mobile vans along with essential equipment will be available at various spots with engineers and employees of the MSEDCL. To facilitate the immersion procession on the important Laxmi Road and Tilak Road in the city, a control room has been set up at the Modi Ganpati premises. Engineers and employees are specially appointed at this location. This control room will remain operational until the immersion is completed” said officials.

In addition, as a safety measure, employees from the MSEDCL will be monitoring and ensuring the safety of senior citizens and children in the vicinity of public Ganesh mandal immersion processions to ensure that they maintain distance from high and low-tension wires, transformers, and feeder pillars etc. The officials have also urged the members of the ganesh mandals to take appropriate precautions while raising flags from trolleys and other vehicles to ensure that they do not come close or touch to the power lines.

The locations of public Ganesh mandals and routes for large processions have been already inspected prior to the Ganesh festival to ensure the maintenance and repair of electrical equipment. To ensure that citizens or children do not climb the feeder pillars, nails have been put up on feeder pillars on the procession route.
