Pune Witnesses Slight Rise In Minimum Temperature; IMD Predicts Partly Cloudy Weather

Pune, 6th January 2025: After experiencing a brief spell of chilly weather, Pune recorded a slight increase in its minimum temperature on Sunday (5th January), with the mercury rising to 11.2°C. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted partly cloudy skies over the next two days, bringing some relief from the cold conditions that returned recently.
The city had been experiencing colder weather since Saturday (4th January), with temperatures in some parts of the state dropping significantly. However, the minimum temperature across Maharashtra increased by 2°C to 3°C on Sunday. Nagpur recorded the state’s lowest temperature at 8.8°C, while Pune saw a marginal reduction in the cold’s intensity.
The IMD has predicted dry weather conditions for Konkan and Vidarbha regions, including Goa. However, isolated rainfall is expected in Marathwada and Central Maharashtra.
In Pune, the skies are expected to remain mostly clear during the day, with partly cloudy conditions developing by the afternoon and evening. The city may also witness scattered fog in the early morning hours. The IMD has projected Monday’s (6th January) minimum temperature at 11°C, while the maximum temperature is expected to touch 30°C.
