Pune: Woman Accused of Establishing Company with Stolen Research and Patents
Hinjawadi, 24th October 2023: A case of alleged intellectual property theft has come to light, with a woman accused of establishing a new company based on stolen research data, patent information, and other materials. The incident took place in Mahalunge, spanning from September 2018 until October 2023.
Adhir Prabhakar Potdar, a resident of Pashan, has lodged a formal complaint with the Hinjawadi police station (Pimpri Chinchwad Police) regarding this matter. Acting on the complaint, the police have registered a case against the female accused and Suresh Atul More, a resident of Kothrud, on charges of cheating and theft of information.
According to the police, the female accused, in partnership with the complainant, initiated a company called Nas Mycotech in 2018. The company was registered with the intention of manufacturing biodegradable packaging materials. A share partnership of 33:33 was decided upon. However, after the patent preparations, the woman resigned from her position as director and ceased operations. Subsequently, the complainant discovered that the woman was in the process of establishing another company with a similar patent.
Upon objecting to these actions, the patent was not approved. Consequently, the accused proceeded to establish a new company named Kavak Greentech, utilizing research data, confidential information, and patent data from the Nas Mycotech company in Mahalunge.
The accused allegedly deceived the complainant both financially and by withholding a share in the newly established company. Moreover, this new company was created with mutual knowledge of acquired materials and patent data.
The Hinjawadi police have registered the case, and further investigations are underway to address the alleged intellectual property theft and financial deception.
