Pune, 25th February 2023: Sahkarnagar police have taken action against fake journalists who falsely accused a woman of being a prostitute and extorted money from her in the Dhankawadi area. A case has been registered against Seema Shashikant Shinde (30), her friend, Archana Naidu, and ten others. The victim lodged a complaint with the Sahakarnagar police station.

Archana Naidu, who is a neighbor of the victim, made baseless allegations that the woman was involved in prostitution. Together with her friend, they entered the victim’s flat posing as journalists and anti-corruption bureau police. They assaulted the victim, her son, and niece, demanding immediate payment to settle the matter. The victim was coerced into giving them Rs 19,000 and gold ornaments worth Rs 70,000.

However, the victim reported the incident to the police out of fear. Assistant Police Inspector Shendge is currently investigating the matter.
