Pune: Woman And Two Men Posing As Cyber Police Dupe Man They Met Through Facebook

Pune 18th August 2023: A 46-year-old person from Pimpri Chinchwad has lodged a complaint with Pune City Police against a woman and two men for allegedly looting him of Rs 53,500. The accused had come to meet a woman he came in contact through Facebook.

According to the complaint registered with the police, the accused first contacted him through Facebook and asked him to come to meet her at a hotel in Warje. However, when he came to to the hotel two men accused him of his involvement in trapping women and recording their videos.

The accused posted as cyber police and threatened him of action. Later, in the name of settling the matter they took him to an ATM machine and forced him to withdraw cash.

A case in this regard has been registered at Warje Malwadi police station under sections 392, 420, 506, 170, 384 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Further investigation in the matter is underway.
