Pune: Woman Booked for Throwing Boiling Tea on Husband’s Face After Domestic Dispute in Pune

Kothrud, 1st January 2026: A 23-year-old woman has been booked by the Kothrud police for allegedly throwing boiling tea on her husband’s face following a domestic dispute in the Kothrud area of Pune, police said on Thursday.

The complaint was lodged by the victim, a 27-year-old man, at the Kothrud Police Station. According to the police, the couple had been married for about two years and were residing in the Paud Road area. The husband works as a security guard at a private establishment.

Police officials said the couple had been experiencing frequent arguments over domestic issues for the past few days. On Wednesday morning (December 31), the man was asleep when his wife woke him up around 10.30 am. An argument reportedly broke out after she accused him of pretending to sleep.

During the altercation, the woman allegedly threw boiling tea kept on the gas stove onto the man’s face, causing him injuries. The injured man later approached the police and filed a complaint.

A case has been registered against the woman at the Kothrud Police Station. Further investigation is underway.
