Pune: Woman Injured In Armed Attack By Robbers, Ornaments Looted

Pune, 25th April 2022: An armed robbery was carried out by a gang of five robbers in the Pandharsthal area of Uruli Kanchan. One woman was injured in the attack.

 

The incident took place on Sunday around midnight. Another attempt by the robbers failed.

 

According to Loni Kalbhor police station officials, Mahadev Tukaram Kanchan and his wife Baby Mahadev Kanchan (25) both live at Pandharsthal in Uruli Kanchan Gram Panchayat. They had slept with the door closed around 9.30 pm on Sunday. Around midnight, a robber opened the window by removing the nail. He tried to open the window by putting his hand through the window but the door could not be opened. They opened the main door with the help of a stick and entered the house.

 

Police said that the robbers threatened the couple with sharp weapons and asked about valuables. Some of them ransacked the house but did not find anything. They forced the woman to remove her earrings and chain. In the scuffle, she sustained injuries on both of her hands. After that the robbers fled. She has received 15 stitches.

 

After getting information about the robbery, DCP (Zone 5) Namrata Patil, ACP (Hadapsar division) Bajrang Desai, Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Mokashi, Inspector Kiran Dhaygude and API Sadashiv Gaikwad and their team members reached the spot for investigation.

 

Inspector Mokashi, in-charge of Loni Kalbhor police station, told PunekarNews.in, “We have registered an FIR of robbery and further investigation is going on.”
