Pune: Woman Loses Nearly Rs 20 Lakh in Government Job Scam Orchestrated by Father-Son Duo

Katraj, 5th November 2024: A woman was duped of nearly Rs 20 lakh under the pretext of securing a government job by a father-son duo. The accused gained her trust by claiming to have influential connections within the government, which they assured would help her land the position.
The woman, a resident of Katraj, has filed a complaint at the Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station. A case has been registered against Sunil Namdev Gadkar and his son, Kiran Sunil Gadkar, both residents of Ambegaon Budruk.
According to police reports, the accused became acquainted with the complainant through a mutual friend. They allegedly promised her a government job, asserting they had connections with high-ranking officials. Over time, the accused collected Rs 19.19 lakh from her in several instalments, with the payments beginning in July. When the promised job did not materialise, the woman confronted the accused, who gave vague responses. Realising she had been deceived, she filed a complaint. Assistant Police Inspector Vishwas Bhabad is currently investigating the case.
