Pune: Woman Raped By Tinder Date, FIR Registered With Wakad Police Station

Wakad, 10th January 2021: A woman was allegedly raped by a man whom she met on dating app Tinder. The case has been registered at Wakad Police station.

According to police, the incident happened between 12th June to 24th September 2020 at various hotels in Hinjawadi area. The woman met Aman Deepak Singh (29) of Thergaon, on Tinder dating app and started chatting with each other. The accused reportedly promised to marry the woman, who is a widow. They went to various hotels in Tathwade, Punawale, Hinjawadi and Marunji with her, where he repeatedly raped her. When she asked about the marriage, the man threw his shoes on her face and refused to marry her. The case is under investigation, said police.

Another case was registered with Hinjawadi police station recently, in which an air hostess was allegedly raped by her Tinder mate. The incident took place on 26th December 2020. He took her to his residence and raped her after beating her. The complaint was registered at Hinjewadi police station and police have arrested Abhijit Sitaaram Wagh, a resident of Kalewadi.
