Pune: Woman Stabbed To Death On Way To Work At Ammunition Factory In Khadki

Khadki, 24th April 2023: A 44-year-old woman was brutally stabbed and killed on her way to work at the ammunition factory in Khadki, Pune. The attack occurred at around 8:30 AM, a few meters away from the factory gate.
Two people on a bike intercepted the woman, Rajni Rajesh Baikellu, on the road and stabbed her on her neck, body, and other parts. The woman screamed, and the attackers fled the scene when they saw people coming.
Rajni, who was a resident of Kundan Kushal Society, Bopodi, had been working at the ammunition factory in Khadki. After her husband’s death, she started working in his place as an attendant. She had two children. The police suspect that the attack was due to some personal matter, based on their preliminary investigation.
When people nearby heard Rajni’s scream, they immediately gathered around her. The woman was seriously injured and died before she could receive treatment from doctors.
Following the incident, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 4) Shashikant Borate, Assistant Commissioner of Police Aarti Bansode, Senior Police Inspector of Khadki Police Station Vishnu Tamhane, and Crime Inspector Mansingh Patil visited the spot.
Based on a complaint from Ishwar Govind Swamy, a resident of Bopodi, Khadki police station has registered an FIR against the unknown attackers.
The police are still investigating the matter to apprehend the attackers and determine the motive behind the murder.
