Pune: Women Officials To Take Charge Of Pune’s Sub-Registrar Offices On March 7

Pune, 7th March 2025: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, all 27 sub-registrar offices under the Registration and Stamp Duty Department in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad will be managed entirely by women today, 7th March. Additionally, the role of the Joint Sub-Registrar will also be assigned to women officers for the day.
Since International Women’s Day falls on Saturday, 8th March—a public holiday—the initiative will be observed a day earlier. The responsibilities of the Joint Sub-Registrar, District Stamp Collector and Sub-Registrar (Haveli 1 to 27) offices, along with the Pune District Marriage Registration Office, will be handed over to women officers and staff.
Sangita Jadhav Pathare will assume the role of Joint Sub-Registrar (Class 1) and District Stamp Collector for Pune, while Rajashri Khatke will take over as Joint Sub-Registrar (Class 2). Women employees will also handle the responsibilities of Class 2 positions in all sub-registrar offices. The Registration and Stamps Department has already issued the necessary orders for this transition.
Santosh Hingane, District Stamp Collector and Joint Sub-Registrar (Class 1), stated that out of the 27 women officers, seven will be taking charge as sub-registrars for the first time.
“Working in sub-registrar offices has become increasingly challenging over time. This initiative aims to demonstrate that women officers are fully capable of handling these responsibilities efficiently,” Hingane added further.
