Pune: Worker Dies After Falling From 11th Floor Of Building

Pune, 20th January 2023: A worker died after falling from the 11th floor while working on a water pipe. The incident happened on Wednesday (18th January) around noon. In this regard, a case has been registered against the contractor and the house owner at Bharti Vidyapeeth Police Station.

The deceased worker has been identified as Sunil Bhimrao Shingade (27), a resident of Lakshmi Nagar, Dahanukar Colony. A case has been registered against contractor Sudhakar Shankar Pawar (36), a resident of Dahanukar Colony, and house owner Hemant Bhongle based on the complaint filed by police officer Nandlal Bhadle.

According to the information given by the police, the repair work of the water channel started on the 11th floor at Laketown Society in Bharti Vidyapeeth premises on Wednesday at 12.30 pm. The contractor was negligent when it was necessary to provide safety materials like a helmet, net, and safety belt to Shingade.

Meanwhile, Shingade fell from the eleventh floor due to a loss of balance while working. In this incident, his head was seriously injured. Shingade was immediately admitted to the hospital for treatment. But he died before treatment. Police sub-inspector Avinash Dhame is investigating the case further.
