Pune: Workers On Hunger Strike In Pimpri Admitted To Hospital
Pimpri, 28th November 2022: Workers of Daechang India Seat Company have been on hunger strike for several days in Pimpri for various demands, and the health of some of the workers have deteriorated. They have been admitted to Yashwantrao Chavan Hospital for treatment.
The said company manufactures seats for Mahindra cars. The company has hired not permanent workers but contract workers. The agitation is going on under the leadership of Yashwant Bhosle, the labour leader and president of the National Labor Union, regarding the issues of these workers.
In this regard, Bhosle said, “The company has recruited workers as contract workers and apprentices. They are not given any concessions. A salary increase has not been given. The National Labor Front Union was formed in the company. The workers have started being threatened, and a complaint has been filed in Mahalunge police station in this regard.” Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissioner Ankush Shinde has been stated in this regard.
