Pune, July 6, 2020: District Collector Naval Kishore Ram has warned strict action against those violating the rules of masks, social distancing, and said that if the people continue to disobey the rules, the administration would have to declare lockdown again. He was interacting with the media in an online press conference today.

The government has relaxed the lockdown, but the threat of Coronavirus has not yet been averted. Along with Pune city, the number of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) positive in rural areas is increasing day by day. However, it is observed that many citizens in the district are seen outdoors without any reason without masks.

Ram said, “The number of Coronavirus-infected patients in rural areas of Pune district has increased significantly in the last 20 days. Given the growing number of patients in the suburban area, the administration will have to take a tough stance. If more than five COVID-positive patients are found in any village in the district, the entire village will have to be declared a restricted area.”

He further said that it is also found that the wedding ceremonies in several areas are crowded, and no rules of lockdown and social distancing are followed there. He stated that squads had been formed in this regard, and stricter action will be taken against those involved.
