Pune: Yerawada Police Arrest Youth for Vandalizing Vehicles, Parade Him Through Crime Scene

Yerawada, 17th February 2025: Yerawada Police have arrested Sayaji Sambhaji Dolare (23), a resident of Laxmi Nagar, for vandalizing 12 auto-rickshaws and two motorcycles in the Laxmi Nagar area of Yerawada. Following his arrest, the police paraded Dolare through the same area where he had committed the acts of vandalism.
The incident occurred on February 6th, when Dolare went on a rampage in the middle of the night, damaging vehicles and throwing stones at a JCB machine’s windshield. When a local resident attempted to stop him, Dolare attacked the person with a sharp weapon before fleeing the scene.
After an extensive search, the police apprehended Dolare on Saturday (15th February). In a notable move, they then paraded him through Laxmi Nagar Chowk, the area where he had committed the vandalism, following instructions from Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra and Guardian Minister of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 4) Himmat Jadhav, led by Senior Police Inspector Ravindra Kumar Shelke and his team.
