Pune: Yerwada Jail Guard’s Suicide Linked to Love Affair, Six Accused Booked
Yerwada, 26th July 2023: A week after his marriage, a tragic incident unfolded as a prison guard took his own life, and the shocking reason behind the suicide has now been revealed. The investigation has uncovered that the guard’s suicide was prompted by a failed love affair, and as a result, the Yerwada police have filed a case against six individuals, including his girlfriend.
The deceased jail guard has been identified as Amol Muralidhar Mane, aged 28.
The Yerwada Police Station has registered a case against Pallavi Dinkar Dhumal (residing in Yerwada Jail Colony), Dinkar Rangoba Dhumal (aged 57, residing in Vijay Park, Vidyanagar), Pratik Dinkar Dhumal, Rohidas Muralidhar Nigde (aged 52), Soham Nigde, and Rohit Sahu Labwala for their alleged involvement in Mane’s suicide. Police Sub-Inspector Bhagwan Gurav has lodged the complaint.
According to the police investigation, Amol Mane and Pallavi were involved in a romantic relationship. However, Pallavi refused to marry him, leading to a series of threats from her and her relatives towards Amol. Pallavi warned him that she would get him suspended if he dared to complain against her. Meanwhile, Amol had already arranged his marriage and had tied the knot in January, even taking a leave from his duties at the jail. However, the harassment did not stop, and after he returned to work post-marriage, Pallavi and her relatives continued to threaten him, questioning his decision to get married and even threatening to file a complaint against him.
Tragically, on the 27th of February, Amol Mane took his own life in the early hours of the morning by shooting himself with a gun while on duty at Yerwada Jail. Before suicide, he left a message on his mobile phone. The police investigation delved into the matter, leading to the registration of a case against the six individuals involved. Police Inspector Kanchan Jadhav is currently handling the investigation into this heart-wrenching incident.
