Pune: Yerwada police DB nabs two notorious goons
Pune, 20 July 2020: The sleuths from the detection branch (DB) of Yerwada police station, Pune city police, have arrested two notorious goons who used to terrorise people in Yerwada and Wagholi. They had also injured officials from Crime Branch Unit 4 in March this year.
The arrested accused have been identified as Mohsin alias Moba Badesab Sheikh (37) of Laxminagar, Yerwada and his accomplice Adil Hameed Sheikh (22), who is also resident of Laxminagar. There are 17 cases against Mohsin including that of attempt to murder, robbery and assault.
On March 10, police personnel of Crime Branch Unit 4 were checking criminals on police record, when Mohsin and his accomplices had obstructed the police work and injured the police personnel with intent to kill them. Therefore, a case of attempt to murder was registered against them at Yerwada police station. Since then the accused were absconding. Police teams were sent to various places including in Karnataka but they were not found.
Yesterday, DB in-charge Assistant Police Inspector Balbhim Nanaware received tip-off from an informer that Mohsin was living in Kesnand Fata area near Wagholi. Accordingly, a trap was laid around 3 am today and Mohsin and his accomplice were nabbed.
Additional Commissioner of Police (East region) Sunil Phulari, DCP (Zone 4) Pankaj Deshmukh, ACP (Yerwada division) Vijay Chaudhary, Yerwada police station’s Senior Police Inspector Yunus Sheikh, Police Inspector (Crime) Ajay Waghmare supervised the investigation team which included API Balbhim Nanaware, Police Sub Inspector Shantamal Kollure, Police Nauk Sachin Ranadive, Manoj Kudale, Navnath Mohite, Sharad Bangar, Pankaj Musle, Constables Rahul Pardeshi and Tejas Pawar.
