Before embarking on the return journey, they had stopped for a late-night meal at a friend’s place. Despite advice to rest and resume the journey in the morning, the driver insisted on driving through the night, citing other commitments.
“At dawn, the car suddenly plunged into the valley while we were all fast asleep. None of us knew what caused the accident. We sustained injuries and tried to wake the driver, but he was unresponsive. It was pitch dark, and we had to make our way up from the valley in the dark,” Abhishek recounted.
