Pune: Young Man Dies By Suicide, Slits Own Throat; Investigation Ongoing

Pune, 18th September 2022: A young man stabbed himself with a cutter in the Raikar Mala area of Dhayari. The reason behind the suicide could not be ascertained. The police have expressed the possibility that he had depression.

The young man was identified as Mahesh Rajaram Tawande (32) of Raikar Mala in Dhayari. Mahesh was working in a private company. He and his girlfriend lived in the Raikar Mala area on rent. His girlfriend had gone out.

On Friday, he was talking loudly to someone on his mobile. After that, the house was closed from the inside for the entire day. Suspicious, the landlord rang the doorbell at night. When there was no response, the homeowner reported the incident to the police.

Shailesh Sankhe, Senior Police Inspector of Sinhagad Police Station visited the spot. It was then revealed that Mahesh had slit his own throat with a cutter.

The body was sent to Sassoon Hospital for post-mortem, and a case of accidental death has been registered at the Sinhagad Police Station.
