Pune, 31st December 2023: A 25-year-old young man, Deepak Champalal Rajpurohit, residing in Saikrupa Society, Somwar Peth, allegedly took his own life on Monday. The Samarth Police have registered a case against two individuals for their alleged involvement in threatening and inciting the young man for suicide.

Deepak’s father, Champalal, filed a formal complaint, shedding light on the underlying circumstances leading to his son’s tragic decision.

According to the complaint, Deepak had borrowed money with interest from some private moneylenders, and the inability to repay the borrowed amount left him vulnerable to harassment. Allegedly, these moneylenders, displaying thuggish behaviour, subjected Deepak to mental torment, ultimately pushing him to take his own life.

Champalal, in his statement to the police, expressed that his son succumbed to the relentless interrogation and threats imposed by the moneylenders, leading to his decision to end his life.

Following an investigation into the matter, the police have registered a case against the two persons. Police Sub-Inspector Jyoti Kutte is leading the investigation.
