Pune: Young Man Fatally Attacked in Old Dispute, Andekar Gang Suspected
Pune, 5th July 2023: Around 1 pm today in Nana Peth, a young man was stabbed with a sharp weapon and critically injured due to an ongoing dispute. Preliminary investigations suggest the involvement of attackers associated with the notorious Andekar gang.
The victim, identified as Arbaz Shaifuddin Shaikh, 28, and a resident of Nana Peth, sustained severe injuries in the assault. The accused have been identified as Awez Ashfaq Syed, 20, residing near Sagar Hotel, Kondhwa, Aman Yusuf Pathan alias Khan, 22, and Jaymesh Shinde, 20, residing in Takaar Galli, Nanapeth.
According to police, Arbaz, accompanied by his uncle and society chairman Kailas Badekar, as well as Vijay Andekar, Faizal Sheikh Ibrahim Sheikh, and Vicky Kamble, were en route to Nana Peth when the assailants, Awaj and Aman, fueled by unresolved animosity, initiated the attack. Arbaz suffered grave injuries from a sharp weapon wielded by Awaj, while Jaymesh Shinde inflicted harm by throwing a glass bottle of beer.
This incident has once again brought the Andekar gang to the forefront, causing concern and fear among the citizens.
