Pune: ‘Young Minds Needed For Bright Future Of Defence Technology In India’

Pashan, 18th December 2021: KPS Murthy, Director HEMRL and DG ACE PK Mehta today emphasised the need for participation and involvement of young minds for the bright future of defence technology in India.

They were speaking at a webinar ‘India’ s Odyssey of Propulsion’ organized by High Energy Materials Research Laboratory (HEMRL), a premier DRDO establishment for the development of an entire range of explosives, propellants and pyrotechnics for powering defence systems like missiles, rockets, guns, grenades, bombs, etc.

PK Mehta, DS & DG (ACE) inaugurated the function in the presence of KPS Murthy, OS & Director, HEMRL, Pune & Dr D Chakravarty Director CoPT. On this occasion, two manuals on standardisation and characterization of raw materials for defence were unveiled.

The webinar was attended by more than 400 defence enthusiasts, school and college students who participated in the webinar online and offline. The webinar’s focus was the current status of propulsion in India and the future ahead.

HEMRL is known for working towards self-reliance in the field of defence technology contributing significantly to the strategic and tactical system.

‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ is an initiative of the Govt of India to celebrate and commemorate the 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements. DRDO is celebrating the event by conducting various activities with a focus on the theme of “Atma Nirbhar Bharat”.
