Pune: Youth Arrested in Wakad for Ganja Sale, 318 Grams Seized by Pimpri-Chinchwad Police
Wakad, 3rd May 2025: A 19-year-old youth, Ajay Prakash Pawar from Wakad, was arrested by the Anti-Narcotics Squad on Thursday evening for attempting to sell ganja in Shankar Kalate Nagar, Wakad. Police seized 318 grams of ganja from his possession during the operation.
The arrest followed a police patrol spotting Pawar behaving suspiciously on Shankar Kalate Nagar Road. Upon searching his two-wheeler, officers found the ganja, along with a mobile phone and the vehicle, totaling a seizure worth Rs 82,170. Investigation revealed that Pawar had sourced the ganja from Punith Kumar Shetty, also from Wakad, who now faces charges as well.
The case was registered at Wakad Police Station based on a complaint by Police Constable Kapilesh Igwe. Wakad police are continuing their investigation into the local ganja distribution network.
