Pune Youth Detained After Road Accident, Creates Chaos at Police Chowky

Shaniwar Peth, 2nd December 2024: The Vishrambag police have filed a case against a 22-year-old youth for causing a disturbance at Shaniwar Peth police chowky and verbally abusing police personnel.

The complaint was filed by Police Constable Prasad Thakur at the Vishrambag police station. The accused youth, a resident of Narayan Peth, was involved in a road accident at around 1 AM on New Year’s Eve.

According to police, the youth was riding a two-wheeler at high speed near Omkareshwar temple when he collided with a woman on a two-wheeler, damaging her vehicle. The woman immediately reported the incident to the police.

After detaining the youth, the police took him to the Shaniwar Peth police chowky for further proceedings. However, at the chowky, the accused started creating a ruckus. He verbally abused both the police personnel and the complainant woman. The youth also allegedly pushed Police Constables Thakur and Inamdar during the confrontation.

As a result, a case has been registered against the youth for obstructing government work and causing disruption at a police chowky. Police Sub-Inspector Supriya Pandharkar is currently investigating the matter.
