Warje Malwadi, 26th May 2025: In a dramatic twist, Pune police have uncovered that Nilesh Ghare, the district president of the Shiv Sena’s Youth Wing (Yuva Sena), staged a fake shooting on his own vehicle in a bid to secure a firearms license and police protection. The incident took place on the night of May 19 in the Warje Malwadi area of Pune.

Initially reported as an attack by unknown assailants, the case took a surprising turn during the investigation. As per the original report, two men on a motorcycle allegedly fired at Ghare’s parked black vehicle near his public relations office at Ganpati Matha in Warje. Ghare was present inside the office at the time but fortunately, no one was injured.

Police teams from Warje Police Station and the Crime Branch launched a detailed investigation. Acting on leads, three individuals were detained late Sunday night, who later confessed to executing the staged attack at Ghare’s behest.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Sachin Gole, Shubham Khemnar, and Ajay alias Bagli Sakpal. A fourth accused, Sanket Matale, remains absconding, and efforts are underway to trace him.

According to police sources, Ghare had earlier applied for a weapon license, which was rejected. It is now suspected that he orchestrated the shooting to fabricate a threat to his life, in hopes of gaining both the license and official police protection, citing his position as a district president in the Yuva Sena.

A senior official stated, “It is shocking to see to what extent the accused went just to obtain a firearms license and security cover. This matter is under further investigation.”

Police are currently examining Ghare’s exact role in the conspiracy, and further legal action is expected.
