Pune, May 6, 2020: A youth who was selling liquor in a hotspot area of ​​Yerwada died of corona on Monday night. Everyone in the family of the concerned youth has been quarantined. However, it is difficult to know how many people were sold liquor by the concerned youth, so the Yerwada area officials of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Pune city police have lost their sleep now.

It was reported in ‘Sakal’ newspaper that country liquor is being distilled and sold within the limits of Parnakuti and Laxminagar police chowkies under Yerwada police station. After that, the police took the only action. During the entire lockdown, foreign liquor, cannabis, gutkha and tobacco were being sold openly within the limits of these areas. So drunkards were seen walking in these areas all night. The police had released the accused with a minor action.

The youth, who was staying at a hotspot in Parnakuti police chowky area, was selling liquor and toddy whole night. He was diagnosed with Coranavirus a few days ago. He was being treated at Sassoon Hospital. He died on Monday. After that, Yerwada police and municipal officials started running around searching for people who might have bought liquor from him or came in his contact. Residents of the neighbourhood where he lived are terrified as it is impossible to say how many people came in contact with him.

Pune Municipal Corporation officials said that the doctor examined the young man’s health at his doorstep. He was hospitalized as a corona suspect. He was found to be COVID19 positive and died during treatment on Monday.
