Pune Zilla Parishad Warns Parents Against Unauthorized Schools, Lists 13 Institutions

Pune, 8th January 2025: The Education Department of Pune Zilla Parishad has issued a list of unauthorized schools to protect parents from potential losses and disruptions to their children’s education. Thirteen schools have been named, and parents are advised not to seek admission to these institutions. Primary Education Officer Sanjay Naikade warned that unauthorized schools continuing operations would face legal action during a press conference held today.

As the admission process for private schools begins for the new academic year, parents are eager to secure spots in private English-medium institutions. To prevent deception, the education department has urged parents to verify a school’s recognition status before enrolling their children. They should check if the school is a Fully Recognized School, Provisionally Recognized School, Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE) Plus, or Self-Recognized School.

Naikade emphasized that unauthorized schools operating without approval will face a daily fine of ₹10,000, in addition to legal consequences for deceiving parents. He added that schools that have submitted letters of intent and migration proposals must obtain recognition before the start of the academic year.

To address the issue, officials have been assigned responsibility for unauthorized schools in Haveli and Mulshi talukas, as well as in the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) areas. Additionally, guidance rooms have been established at various locations to assist parents.

The following thirteen schools have been instructed to cease admissions and advertisements immediately:

2. Jesus Christ English Medium School, Kamshet
3. Kingsway Public School, Lonavala
4. Shiv Samarth English Medium School, Jambhulwadi
5. Angels High School, Dattawadi, Pune
6. Chanakya Junior College, Pirangut
7. Ankur English Medium School, Marunji
8. Periwinkle English Medium School, Pirangut
9. Elite International School, Kasar Amboli
10. Sanskar Primary School, Pirangut
11. MES Rani Laxmibai Mulinchi Sainiki Shala, Kasar Amboli
12. Delhi Public School, Hinjawadi
13. Marathon International School, Manjari

Of these, six schools lack government approval, while five have submitted migration proposals.
