Pune, 14th April 2023: Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre, Pune’s Organ Transplant Centre of Excellence has reached a momentous milestone in the field of medical science. A trusted and reputed name in organ transplant, the hospital recently got credited with a record-breaking organ transplant procedure involving a 19 year-old brain dead patient whose organs gave a new lease of life to five patients.
The success of this complex organ transplant surgery helped a 52-year-old male patient through Heart Transplant, a 39-year-old female patient through Lung Transplant, a 53 year-old male patient through Liver Transplant, a 35-year-old male through Kidney and Pancreas Transplant and a 47-year-old male through Kidney Transplant. The surgeries were successfully completed on the same day under one roof, marking a groundbreaking achievement for the institution and a major step forward in the field of medical science.
