Pune’s Popular Garden Vada Pav Outlet Ordered to Close Temporarily Over LPG Safety Violation
Camp, 16th March 2026: A routine inspection by authorities has led to the temporary closure of the popular Garden Vada Pav outlet after officials found lapses in the safe storage of LPG cylinders used for cooking.
According to officials, the inspection revealed that the café did not have a designated storage facility for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders, which is mandatory under prescribed safety regulations for food establishments. The absence of proper storage arrangements prompted authorities to take immediate action.
Following the findings, the outlet was instructed to halt operations until it complies with the required safety norms. Authorities clarified that the establishment will only be allowed to reopen once proper LPG storage arrangements are installed and verified by the concerned departments.
Known as a popular snack destination in Pune, Garden Vada Pav regularly attracts large numbers of customers, including residents and tourists, throughout the day.
Officials said further decisions will depend on whether the outlet meets the mandated safety guidelines for handling and storing LPG cylinders. Once the required measures are implemented and approved, the café may be permitted to resume operations.
