Pune’s Vishwakarma Vidyalaya selected for Establishment of Atal Tinkering Laboratories

Vishwakarma Vidyalaya English medium School, a renowned school in Pune, for quality education, has been selected for the establishment of Atal Tinkering Laboratories in December 2016 by the Govt. of India, NITI Aayog, New Delhi. Out of 13005 applications received from all over India, 597 schools were short listed for the final round and then finally 257 from all over India, were selected, in which 27 schools  from Maharashtra State, & 7 schools from Pune were selected.

The faculty Incharge – Late Mrs. Durgesh Rathore, Miss Sheela Savlsure and Mrs.Mrunal Deshpande along with the students, Aman Singh, Sakshi Singh and Atharva Yanna worked on 2 projects, namely, Solid waste Management and Solution for traffic issues.

Students displayed the projects through power point presentation and working models which were presented at Savitribai Phule Pune University on 5th Nov. 2016. The projects were appreciated by the judges. The government has sanctioned a grant of Rs.20 lakhs for the selected schools. The management has provided an area of about 1800 sq. feet for the establishment of laboratories.

These laboratories would be set within six months from the date of allotment of funds. The team of Vishwakarmians along with the experts would arrange workshops, science fairs, science clubs, various competitions and provide a platform for the young innovative minds to explore their talents in the field of Science and Technology. These labs would be made available to all the enthusiastic students from all schools in Pune.
