Quick Heal Foundation unveils the trophy for Cy-Fi Karandak 2018, in association with Maharashtra Cyber and Theatre Academy!
Pune, December 06, 2018: Quick Heal Foundation, the CSR arm of leading IT security solutions provider Quick Heal Technologies, has today unveiled the trophy for the 2018 edition of Cy-Fi Karandak, a unique competitive festival of one-act-plays to raise cybersecurity awareness. The press conference was organised at Pune Police Commissioner Office in association with Maharashtra Cyber and renowned theatre group Theatre Academy, building up to the grand finale on December 16, 2018.
Announced in August 2018, the second edition of Cy-Fi Karandak has received an impressive response from across Maharashtra. Over 100 teams sent in entries to participate at the event, while Theatre Academy – under the leadership of its President and renowned theatre artist Prasad Purandare – hosted the auditions at regional centres of Pune, Mumbai, Aurangabad, Kolhapur, Goa, and Nagpur.
The grand finale of Cy-Fi Karandak 2018 on December 16 will be hosted at ‘Sakal Lalit Kalaghar’ and will be graced by several distinguished luminaries. Mr. “Riteish Deshmukh” will attend the event as its Chief Guest, while the judging panel will include prominent Marathi theatre, film, and TV personalities such as Mr. Vijay Kenkre and Mr. Anand Ingale. Through this initiative, Quick Heal Foundation is committed to creating a better world, where users are safe and secure in all of their digital interactions, through sustainable initiatives aimed at raising cybersecurity awareness. Nine teams will be shortlisted from across the length and breadth of Maharashtra to participate at the grand finale and showcase thought-provoking contemporary theatrical acts which provide a glimpse into our digitally-driven lifestyles, as well as the level of threat they face today.
Speaking at the trophy unveiling, Mr. Kailash Katkar, Managing Director and CEO – Quick Heal Technologies, said, “While Indians ensure adequate security against threats in the physical world, they still tend to take digital security very lightly. This is extremely problematic, as we have started living our lives just as much in the digital world as we do in the physical realm. Any failure to defend against cyber-threats in the digital sphere gives cybercriminals the opportunity they need to compromise sensitive information and conduct unethical activities with a malicious intent. Awareness is, therefore, the need of the hour. Through the latest edition of Cy-Fi Karandak, we aim to educate users about the digital threats they face, their severity, and how to best defend themselves against an ever-evolving threat landscape.”

Unfortunately, we still see a lot of people who consider cybersecurity to be a luxury rather than a necessity. We believe this novel initiative is a great way of making the masses aware about the level of threat that they face today, and how to best manage their digital security to defend themselves against it.”
