Pune, 3rd May 2024: Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s election rally, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to hold a rally in Pune today, May 3, to campaign for four candidates in the district.

Ravindra Dhangekar from Pune, Sanjog Waghere Patil from Maval, Dr Amol Kolhe from Shirur and Supriya Sule from Baramati are four candidates from Mahavikas Aghadi in the Pune district.

Gandhi is scheduled to arrive in Pune at 3 pm, followed by his address at the meeting at SSPMS ground near the Regional Transport Officer’s Office (RTO) at 4 pm. Senior Congress leaders, including party in-charge Ramesh Chennithala, Maharashtra State president Nana Patole, former Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, and Balasaheb Thorat, will be in attendance. Additionally, leaders of Shiv Sena (UBT) and NCP leader Sharad are also expected to attend.

Prime Minister Modi’s recent meeting in Pune saw him referring to Rahul Gandhi as ‘Shahzade’ and accusing Congress of providing reservations to the Muslim community based on religion and distributing wealth among Muslims through inheritance tax. All eyes are now on Rahul Gandhi’s response to Modi’s accusations.

On the occasion of this meeting, the Congress has initiated extensive preparations for a display of strength. The ground’s seating capacity ranges from forty to fifty thousand chairs. However, due to security concerns, the security team has mandated leaving a significant space in front of the dais. Approximately 12 to 15 thousand seats will need to be removed, resulting in only thirty thousand chairs being arranged. To accommodate attendees, the open space in front of the gate has been designated. Additionally, four LEDs will be installed in the field for the meeting.

Voters and activists will access the venue through the first entrance of the SSPMS organization and Sudarshan Chemicals near the RTO, while the middle road has been reserved for Rahul Gandhi. With the rising summer temperatures, provisions for drinking water have been made to ensure the comfort of citizens.

Arvind Shinde, the Congress city president, mentioned that the party’s expert doctors and physicians will be on standby, with ambulances deployed to provide immediate treatment in case of heatstroke.
