Maharashtra: Shiv Sena Leader Sushma Andhare’s Helicopter Crashes On Landing In Mahad

Mahad, 3rd May 2024: A helicopter which was to carry Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray group leader Sushma Andhare crashed today in Mahad in Raigad district. Andhare informed that the pilot is safe.
The cause of the helicopter crash is yet to be ascertained.
Recounting the harrowing experience, Sushma Andhare revealed, “I was en route to attend an election rally, with scheduled meetings in Mandangad and Roha. Following a meeting in Mahad, where we had stopped for a brief stay, we were preparing to depart from a nearby helipad. As the helicopter approached, it made several hovers before a loud noise resonated, accompanied by a cloud of dust.”
Initially bewildered by the commotion, Andhare expressed concern for the pilot’s safety. “Despite the chaos, I was relieved to learn that the captain is safe. Myself and my younger brother who was accompanying me, were to board the helicopter. The incident occurred before that,” she added.
Sushma Andhare, a prominent figure known for her multifaceted roles as a lawyer, lecturer, activist, and orator, catapulted into the spotlight following her impassioned speech during the Shiv Sena Thackeray group’s 2022 Dussehra gathering. Renowned for her distinctive speaking style, Andhare currently serves as a star campaigner for the Mahavikas Aghadi in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
