Rahul Mathur, CRPF Officer Who Killed Terrorists Even After Sustaining Two Bullet Injuries

Pune, September 18, 2020: On Thursday in Kashmir’s Batmaloo area, three terrorists were killed in an encounter around 3 am. The security forces in the area had received intel about a terrorist hideout in Firdousabad. Acting on it, a joint team of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Jammu and Kashmir Police went in the area to check the house.

Deputy Commandant (DC) Rahul Mathur, CRPF went inside the house and searched the rooms where a terrorist under hiding shot at the CRPF party and Mathur suffered bullet injuries on his upper chest and abdomen.

Despite getting shot twice, Mathur fought back and gunned down the terrorist on the spot. Mathur was hurriedly rushed to the Army Hospital in Srinagar.

Lauding the bravery of the officer even in the grave extremity of the situation, the CRPF tweeted with his picture, “If courage has a face, that’s how its smile would look: Sh Rahul Mathur, DC #CRPF who neutralized terrorists even after suffering bullet injuries yesterday.”
Many people tweeted lauding the bravery of Mathur and expressed gratitude.

Anand Mahindra retweeted CRPF’s post and said, “That unconquerable smile. The strong thumbs up…if you want to feel optimistic about us all emerging stronger from the current crisis, then look no further…”

CRPF spokesperson DIG Moses Dhinakaran also retweeted the CRPF’s post and he also commented, “If you can smile like this after bullet injury a day before, you are already a hero: Sh Rahul Mathur, DC #CRPF who neutralized terrorists even after suffering bullet injuries yesterday.”

Citizens also commented on the post in huge numbers and were very proud of the officer. One person commented, “He is a real-life hero. CRPF is lucky to have such brave hearts. Speedy recovery and all the best.”
