Railway Passengers Union Pimpri-Chinchwad Appeals to Halt Trains at Chinchwad Station During Pune Yard Remodeling
Chinchwad, 19th March 2023: The remodeling work of Pune Yard is set to commence in the coming days and is expected to take about a year or more to complete. In the meantime, the Presidents of the Railway Pravasi Sangh Pimpri-Chinchwad, Iqbal Mulani, and Divisional Railway Users’ Consultative Committee member Bashir Sutar, have urged the Railway Administration to halt the trains at Chinchwad station to prevent passenger inconvenience.
The holiday period, which runs from April to July, sees a significant increase in citizen travel. This increased traffic burdens Pune station, making it necessary to reduce the load by having long-distance trains stop at the Chinchwad central station between Pune and Lonavala.
This move would save time and money for lakhs of passengers within the municipal limits and on Dehu Road and Talegaon, making travel more comfortable.
