New Delhi, 09th July 2025: Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have issued twelve notifications for a total of 1,08,324 vacancies since 2024, with more than 50,000 appointments expected in the upcoming financial year 2026–27, according to an official release.

Since November 2024, RRBs have conducted Computer Based Tests (CBTs) for over 1.86 crore candidates across seven recruitment notifications covering 55,197 vacancies. These efforts are set to result in more than 50,000 appointments during the current financial year 2025–26, with over 9,000 candidates already appointed in the first quarter.

The RRBs are also enhancing exam accessibility and fairness. To reduce travel burden, exam centres are now being allotted closer to candidates’ residences, with priority given to women and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD).

For the first time at such a large scale, Aadhaar-based e-KYC has been deployed for candidate authentication, achieving over 95% success. Additionally, 100% of exam centres are now equipped with signal jammers to prevent cheating using electronic devices.

The CBTs require extensive logistical planning, including expansion of exam centres and deployment of human resources to maintain the integrity of the recruitment process.
