Rain Alert: IMD Issues Nowcast Warning for Thunderstorms in Pune, Other Districts
Pune, 21st May 2025: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Mumbai has issued a nowcast warning at 1:15 PM, alerting residents of Pune, Ahilyanagar, Beed, Dharashiv, Sambhajinagar, Jalna, and Nanded districts about thunderstorms accompanied by lightning.
Light to moderate rain and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40–50 kmph are expected at isolated places over the next 3–4 hours. Citizens are advised to take necessary precautions while venturing outdoors to avoid weather-related hazards.
The alert follows persistent rain activity across parts of Maharashtra due to a developing cyclonic system in the Arabian Sea.
