Regional Athletic Meet 2019 begins at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Pune
Pune, July 18, 2019 : The Regional Athletic Meet, 2019 was started at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Pune on 18th July, 2019. It was inaugurated by Shri P. Ravi Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti Pune Region of Ministry of H.R.D on 18th July, 2019 at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya. 9 clusters from different states of Maharashtra, Gujarath and Goa and the union territories Diu and Daman participate in the Meet. There are 550 participants from 71 schools under 9 clusters. The Athletic Meet would be held in on 18th and 19th July, 2019 in different events: Discus, Shotput, Jevelin throw, Running, High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump ,Javelin throw and Speed Walking.
The chief prefect of the Vidyalaya Master Parth Abhang of Pune administered the oath of play to all the players. The Chief Guest declared the Regional Athletic Meet open. In his inaugural address/said that different types of events in the Athletics are being conducted every year to encourage the rural talented children to promote sportsmanship and National Integration and learn leadership qualities and learn different life skills and value of tolerance to attain peace in the society. In the inaugural event opened by the Chief Guest under 14 girls 100 metre Running event Kum Tanvi of Beed Cluster stood first and Kum Hamangi of Ahmedabad Cluster stood second and Kum Anuska of Kolhapur Cluster stood third. in the Under 14 boys 100 metre Running event Sadeep of Rajkot Cluster stood first, Master Nilesh of Wardha Cluster stood second and Master Tejas of Beed Cluster stood third.The toppers in these events would take part in the National Level Athletic Meet at Kasargod.
Sports teachers Shri Sanjay Salve, Mrs. Deshponde, Balram Dwived, C.S. Kadam and all the members of the staff and students are striving hard to make it a grand success.
On this occasion Mr. T. M. Nair, the Principal of the host vidyalaya, district Pune, Senior Teacher Mr.Raut, Prominent Orthopedic specialist Dr. Suhas Nikam, 8 officials, escort teachers, staff of venue vidyalaya and all the students were present.
