Rent Agreements To Be Registered Within 3 Days, Sub-Registrar Offices Can Remain Open On Weekends Also
Pune, February 7, 2021: There are numerous difficulties in registering online rent agreements. In this context, Deputy Inspector General of Registration Himmat Kharade has directed to register the rent agreement (leave and license) within two to three days after receiving the documents. Meanwhile, instructions have been given to keep the registration offices open even on weekends if the number of tenants who come for registration is high.
Citizens are currently facing delays in getting the documents after they are sent to the sub-registrar office. For this, the citizens are having trouble to follow up continuously for two to three weeks.
A delegation of the Association of Real Estate Agents met the Deputy Inspector General and submitted a letter in this regard. Accordingly, Kharade has given written orders to the Joint District Registrar.
Sachin Shingvi, president of the Association of Real Estate Agents, said, “The lease registration is being ignored. In case of a dispute between the landlord and the tenant, a copy of the lease agreement is required to file a claim. For this, it is also demanded that list number two of the lease agreement and certified copy of the deeds be made available by the sub-registrar.”
