Residents paint Viman Nagar with social messages

Pune, May 28, 2016 – Viman Nagar residents association (VNRA) and AXA Services organized a beautification drive by painting walls and a cycle rally on Saturday.

The event saw large number of volunteers and about 250 persons participated in the rally.

Participants included not just the employees of the prestigious company but also a large number of enthusiasts of Viman Nagar. The main attraction of this event was the 15 km cycle ride wherein senior citizens also participated with great exuberance and also completed the cyclothon.

The  event was gracefully flagged off at 7 am. The rally passed through designated route  via Kalyani Nagar and Koregaon Park before culminating at marbel edge (AXA),Viman Nagar.

Later children and adults of different age groups painted walls reflecting many social messages like save water, protect environment and civics sense.

Some of participants and also key members of organizing committee shared their experience about the event. “The venture was encouraging and successful. The participation of all the people was remarkable,” said Arjun Jagtap from Viman Nagar.

One of the well known participants of 61 years of age shared her experience about the event. Her enthusiasm and happiness on completing this ride successfully was inspirational and she was in favor of more such events.

Another participant Pari Hamdule  was very excited about the venture. “These kind of events will play a key role to overcome many environmental and health fatalities,” Pari told Punekar News.

The initiative was taken by CSR head of AXA services Rohan Rathod. The aim of this cycling event was to promote cycle as an effective, healthy and environment friendly mode of transportation. This event was second in series of cycle events organized by AXA under its supervision.
