Rickshaw Driver and Accomplices Rob Youth of Rs 6,000 Near Pune Railway Station

Pune, 1st January 2025: An incident has come to light in which a rickshaw driver and his accomplices robbed a young man of ₹6,000 by threatening him. The rickshaw driver, operating in the Pune Railway Station area, lured the victim to a deserted location under the pretext of dropping him off and then carried out the robbery. A case has been registered against the rickshaw driver and his accomplices at the Bund Garden Police Station following a complaint by the 20-year-old victim.

According to the complaint, the victim, originally from Chakan, arrived in the Pune Railway Station area for work on Monday (30th December), around 6 AM. He requested the rickshaw driver to drop him off near the Tukaram Sheth Shinde Parking Lot. Instead, the rickshaw driver, accompanied by an accomplice, took the youth to a deserted area. There, the victim was verbally abused, physically assaulted, and robbed of ₹1,200 in cash.

Following that, the rickshaw driver demanded additional money and coerced the youth into transferring ₹4,900 online. After taking the money, the rickshaw driver and his accomplice fled the scene, leaving the shaken victim behind. The youth then approached the Bund Garden Police Station to file a complaint. Assistant Inspector Kadam is investigating the case under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Ravindra Gaikwad.
